History

Our Journey:
Lourdes School is run by Archdiocesan Board of Education, Bengaluru. The Parish Priest of St. Theresa’s Church is the Manager and Correspondent of the School. The institution is located at Cubbonpet on the very spot where once exited the little chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. It was in the year 1947 that the school started functioning. Later on, the little chapel was shifted to a new place in J.C. Road where the present church stands dedicated to St. Theresa. As the number of students increased, the building was gradually developed by Rev Fr. John Castelino, and then by his successor Rev Fr. I. Anthappa who was also responsible for upgrading the school to the level of High School for both Boys and Girls, The other managers also contributed significantly for upgrading the Institution.
Our Focus on::
Every year the Lourdes family goes from strength to strength as new students walk through the gates of the institution. However, Lourdes remains focused on fulfilling the basic principles on which the concept of education arose theall-round development of students and the molding of character of its students to ensure that it will not crumble when tested in the crucible of adulthood.

THROUGH LIGHT TO LIFE
It is virtue alone that makes a student to walk in the light in order to become noble in our life based character. Jesus said “I am the light of the World” John 8:12. He also asserted “you are the light of world” All the scientific discoveries and research on light has not revealed to us the mysteries of light. God is light and is described the best. We are invited to recognise the existence of the spark of this supreme light deep within us.
